How does ViewPoint control document versioning?

ViewPoint offers robust version control features. Every time a document is checked out for editing, the document is “locked” in the system. Only the user that has the document checked out can make changes, and then save them into the system through the Check In feature. Upon check in, a content window will display defaulting to the next minor version of the document. Users can also enter a version description here, as well select an alternative version number for the content. From the Details > Content tab, users can see if the document is checked out, who the content lock owner is, as well as the current version of the document. From this tab, the user can also view older versions of the document, and revert back to a previous version if necessary.
