Assigning permissions allows the project lead to define which components a user can access within the ViewPoint Portfolio structure. There are three permission groups that can be assigned; Browse, Read and Write. Assigning a user with the permission of browse allows for viewing the content but no tasks can be assigned or changes can be made. With read access, the user can see the component and its content but can be assigned only tasks that do not require editing the document. Additionally, users with Read Access have the ability to identify issues. Users with write access can see and change the component and its content.
To assign permissions you must first assure that a user is in a permission group (located under Admin>Groups). Then right-click on the level where you’d like to provide access and choose the Permissions option. From the permissions dialogue you can select the group and permission level that you’d like to assign.
