Dawn and Dan - We're here to blog again!

Dawn and Dan are here to blog again! We just finished a great Webinar series with SCDM that focused on trends for EDC today and into the future. One of the most interesting parts of the Webinar (to both speak and write about) was the use of reports to monitor clinical data.

Using EDC not only lets you see the data a lot quicker (and cleaner) than paper studies ever did, but it also enables you to use real time tools to understand and “data mine” in near real time. Most EDC vendors offer standard report suites with each EDC deployment consisting of query reports, safety reports, enrollment reports and even custom report builders.

Users of EDC should step up, take a proactive approach and utilize the tools to their maximum benefit. Insist that your EDC vendors provide these reports weekly at a minimum, if not daily or updated constantly providing “real time” access.

You deserve it! You should have access to your data on your terms not your vendor’s.

The reports are priceless. Log on to our discussion forum for examples and a more detailed discussion after 17 Aug 2009.
